Ralf Rangnick Comments on Man United-Liverpool Game
“Embarrassing”, “disappointing” and “humiliating” are the words that interim coach Ralf Rangnick used to describe Manchester United’s performance following their 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday night, 19 April.
Playing on their homeground at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool bulldozed over their opponents, with Mohamed Salah contributing two of his team’s four goals during the match.
As a result of their emphatic win, the Reds are now sitting pretty at the top of the English Premier League rankings with 76 points. As for United, they’re trailing behind in sixth place with 54 points.
In a post-match interview, Rangnick bemoaned his side’s performance while praising Klopp’s men for theirs.
“It is embarrassing, it is disappointing, maybe even humiliating,” the 63-year-old German remarked. “We have to accept [Liverpool] are six years ahead of us now. When Jurgen Klopp came, they changed at the club and lifted not just the team, but the club and city to a new level.
“They have better players than we have and this was really reflected by the result today. There will be a rebuild for sure, that was obvious in the first three or four weeks for me.”
